School Accountability Report Card

Palo Verde Union Elementary is a rural, single‐site school district encompassing approximately 20 square miles, located just southwest of the city of Tulare. Approximately 575 pre‐school through eighth grade students are served.

Our teachers and staff believe that education is a shared responsibility — shared by the school, the parents, and the students. By working together we can make our vision a reality, whereby all students perform at their maximum potential, and where differences of language, culture, economics, and abilities are celebrated, and become sources of strength for our students.

Our school community has worked hard to provide our students with the very best education possible. All of this hard work and dedication has paid off in substantial academic success.

Data about student achievement guides the direction of our core academic program. Professional development for teachers focuses on explicit and targeted planning and teaching tailored to the unique needs of each student. Trimester benchmark tests and end‐of‐unit test results are reviewed on a regular basis to identify student needs and to plan and guide instruction. Our teachers develop their skills in all core areas through collaborative teamwork. The central focus of our School Improvement Plan is literacy in Reading, Writing, and Math.
